Nail Crazies Unite challenge – Blue & White

Hello! I’m back with the latest Nail Crazies prompt, which is a simple blue & white. I’m still working through my untried mountain, so I pulled out an untried(ish) blue to use. This is from Radioactive Unicorn – unfortunately there is no name on the bottle, I can’t remember what it was called, and I can’t see it on RU’s website. Shall I call it Fred?

So Fred is a very sheer blue jelly with blue/pinky/magenta flakies. I did try this one when I first got it, and four layers later I could still see my nail line and my stained nails gave it a greenish tone. Not attractive! I said I’d try it again with blue undies and then promptly forgot about it.

I used two coats of Rimmel Loafer Love For You as a base, then added two coats of Fred. It dried quite dull, and really needed topcoat to bring out the flakies.

I wore it like that for a day, it even survived me having to change a tyre on my car!

For the prompt, I wanted to just have a line of stamping at the edge of my nails. I used liquid latex to cover the part I wanted bare, then stamped a circular pattern from Uberchic 12-01 using MoYou London White Knight. I added a line down the stamping with a striping brush.

My striping brush work needs practice! My hand was shaking so my lines are a bit wobbly. Think my ring finger worked best.
