Hello! I’ve been rummaging through the sale trays at my local Tesco again, and picked up a trio of Rimmel polishes this time.
Recently I was browsing Instagram and spotted another UK user having a polish clear out, so I quickly bagged a few! One of them was a glitter topper with no makers logo, just the sticker ‘Sofa King Messy’ on the bottom. A bit of Googling later, I found out it was from Girly Bits, and was created after they received a damaged glitter shipment (hence the name – say it out loud fast!) Recently the hashtag #DareToBare has been all over social media – a publicity campaign by Rimmel London for their new neutral lipsticks and nail polishes. I thought I’d have a go at neutral nails – I’m not usually a neutral girl so I had to add a splash of colour too! Unfortunately for Rimmel, I didn’t use any of their products 😉 Instead I went with Barry M Gelly Lychee, a great neutral beige colour that works well with my skin tone, without looking all mannequin hands. Hello lovelies! Summer means sunshine, and that means holo polish! Right? Well… if only the British weather would co-operate! True to form, the moment I put this polish on my nails it clouded over and has been raining since. Bah. Continue reading “Smitten Polish Antiquing”
Today I have a swatch of another pretty US indie for you – this time from a maker that I had never heard of before. Daiye Spa is from The Lady Varnishes, who make 5-free polishes inspired by films and TV shows. This one was from a collection inspired by Zoolander, which I really must watch again! Today I’m going to show you two pretty polishes that I picked up at Tesco from a reduced makeup bin. They are both blue, and therefore could not be resisted. First of all, we have Rimmel 60 Second Pillow Talk, which is a gorgeous baby blue crème with a very subtle silver shimmer. The bottle claims this is a one coat polish, but I could still see patches after two. It is a pastel though, so I will forgive it. And it does dry fast. Hi! Sometimes, ideas in my head just don’t translate to my nails, and today I have one of those occasions to show you. This mani lasted long enough to take photos before I took it off and started again. Continue reading “Nail Fail!”
