#whencolourscollide challenge – Orange, Green, Purple & Black

Hiya! Its time for the next #whencolourscollide mani – this week we have four colours, and we need to use all four in our designs. A very festive Halloween mix of orange, green, purple and black. I did try free handing some jack o lanterns, but my freehand sucks. I might show them later in the week though! Anyway, I was looking at a Halloween stamping plate and I noticed a couple of patterns that I thought would work as decals. I made these directly on the stamper rather than using a mat.

What I used:

Lacquerhead Polish Green Goddess (green linear holo)
Rimmel Keep Calm & Shop (orange creme)
Lilypad Lacquer Palma Violet (purple linear holo)
MoYou London Black Knight (black stamping polish)
HK-11 Halloween plate
Barry M Cotton (white creme)
HK Girl Glisten & Glow topcoat
2x jumbo clear stampers

I started off by painting my nails with a coat of Cotton, in the hope that a white base would make the colours pop when I applied my decals. Next I stamped a pattern and left it to dry on the stamper for a minute or two, then filled in the gaps with the coloured polishes. Once those had dried, I top coated and left again. This wasn’t a fast mani lol. When the decals were dry, I peeled them off the stamper, trimmed off most of the excess, then laid over a nail. I had to clean up the edges with a brush dipped in acetone. Black seems to be attracted to my cuticles, I thought I’d got rid of it all but the camera found all the bits I missed! Black stamping polish is always so messy and it smears so easily too 😦

Whinging aside (who, me?) I did like these! Its such a dramatic mix of colours, and I love the little holo sparkles. Shame I don’t have an orange holo too!
