Nail Crazies Unite challenge – Anti Valentines

Hi folks! So today the prompt for the Nail Crazies challenge is anti valentines. I’ve gone with red and hearts – but with a twist!

What I used:

• Lilypad Lacquer Palma Violet (purple linear holo)
• Bear Pawlish Mickey & Mallory (red linear holo)
• MoYou London Black Knight (black stamping polish)
• Cling film
• Creative shop stamper
• Liquid latex

Bear Pawlish Mickey & Mallory and Lilypad Lacquer Palma Violet

I wanted a grungy base, so I started with a coat of Palma Violet, then used the cling film (saran wrap if you’re from the US) to dab on Mickey & Mallory. Both polishes are 1-coaters so are ideal for this technique. Just make sure your base coat is completely dry or the cling film can lift patches off. (I know this from experience).

I then stamped some broken hearts over my base. Possibly I should have used a different colour, as they don’t stand out too well, but black hearts fitted the theme. I used the shrinking technique to reduce the size of the heart as it was a bit big for my nails. The original size is on my ring finger nail.
