Before I start on the mani, I would just like to say thank you to Ann from Mani On The Move for featuring me in her Meet The Blogger section! It was great fun to answer all her questions, and an honour to be asked to participate. If you’d like to read more about me and this blog, click here, and give Ann a follow! (Don’t forget to come back again!)
Anyway, orange nails? It’s not a colour I ever go for but as I have been branching out colour-wise lately (thank you #whencolourscollide) I had the urge to try orange.. and guess what, I actually like it!
What I used:
- NYC Spring Street (orange creme)
- Nail Pattern Boldness Seppuku (With A Frisbee) (orange and yellow microglitter)
- Barry M Silver Foil (silver stamping)
- MoYou London Bahamas Punch (yellow stamping)
- Uberchic plate 5-02
- Liquid latex
- Clear stamper
- HK Girl Glisten & Glow topcoat
So the main reason for this mani was to try out Seppuku (with a frisbee) which I acquired from a blog sale in a sort of ‘oooh that looks interesting’ kind of way! The maker says it can reach full opacity with several coats, but I didn’t really want to try that so I put it over two coats of Spring Street, which is a very similar orange. It does mean that the glitters don’t stand out as much as they would over say, black, but I do like the subtle glowy effect.
I decided to stamp over it, using a wavy line image from Uberchic 5-02. I double stamped, first in silver, then in yellow to complement the orange and yellow glitters. A coat of G&G sealed everything in.
I’m definitely on the look out for more orange polishes now! Have you ever surprised yourself with a colour?
See you soon,
