Pink & Silver Zigzag Mani

Hello! After my recent fail with nail vinyls, I thought I’d try again. But better this time, obviously 😉

I started out with three coats of Nails Inc Optic Glow, which is one of three shades given away with Colgate toothpaste at Boots recently. Apparently this giveaway happened last year too, different shades but they share names with this years offerings. Just to confuse people. There are two other colors – Optic Wave which is a bright blue, and Optic Flame which is a classic red. I picked up the blue one too – I’ve already got a gazillion reds so that one got left on the shelf.

My ring finger has three coats of Ciate Locket, which is an awesome silver glitter that easily builds to be opaque. It looks like hammered silver on my nails. Optic Glow is a cute pastel pink. I didn’t find working with it too bad – whether my application skills are improving, or Nails Inc make better pastel polishes I don’t know. I left everything to dry overnight. See, I learn from past mistakes! (sometimes)

The next day, I applied zigzag vinyls to my ring finger, painted over with a coat of Optic Flame, then immediately removed the vinyls. On all my other fingers I applied small silver studs to tie the silver accent in. Everything was then top coated with INM Out The Door to seal.

I really liked the finished effect, and I got a lot of compliments on it which is always nice!

The Nails Inc Optic collection are only available when buying Colgate Max White One toothpaste at Boots stores. Ciate polishes can be found in TK Maxx, TJ Hughes (both have older stock) and from the Ciate website. My zigzag vinyls came from She Sells Sea Shells, and the silver studs are from Born Pretty Store.

Till next time,
Love, Jo x
